Are you a photography junkie? Always looking for the next great place to visit, work on your photography, and add some great new shots to your portfolio. If so, then have I got the place for you. It's called Hope Island, and is located in the Gold Coast region, just south of Brisbane, in Australia. This beautiful island offers a feast for the eyes, and is an experience, you won't want to miss. They say, seeing is believing! And that never rings more true than on Hope Island.
Hope Island is near the northern end of the Gold Coast. Over the past decade, it has seen a sharp rise, in popularity, due in part to its close distance, to both Brisbane, and the Gold Coast beaches. Even though, it's been built up as a residential, gated resort community, it still offers some of the loveliest scenery, in the entire world.
The first stop, on our suggested photography tour, is the beautiful Sanctuary Cove, which is one location you don't want to miss. Filled with some of the best waterfront views imaginable, this is a photographer's paradise. You'll get lost in a maze of picturesque waterways, and lush scenery. You'll also find yourself wanting to take shot after breathtaking shot, of two of the most gorgeous golf courses in the world.
The next stop, I would suggest you make while practicing your Hope Island photography, is the Hope Island Resort, which is an upscale gated community, with plenty of great places to shoot. The marina is a popular area for photographers, as is, the canal system.
This eco-tourism resort has a lovely Livistona rainforest, among a wide variety of other picture worthy wonders. Stroll down the boardwalk for a bit, and be transported into a lush forest. You'll also want to keep your eye out for the lookout tower. Get some great shots, from up high, among the canopy of this beautiful rainforest. Finally, grab a bike, and take a trip, to the beach and sand dune area. You'll be glad you made the ride.
The canals of Hope Island are among the most ambitious in the world, stretching from the Marina Shopping Village, which is on the west section of Hope Island, to Boykambil, which is located on the east side of Hope Island. The canals stretch for over four kilometres, and lend themselves, to all forms of photography, particularly aerial shots. Take a slow ride through the canals, and you'll be rewarded with unique shots of the waterways, and waterfront land.
